Life-Size Bdubs is now on Fabric for BlanketCon!
New fixes, same silly! Life-Size Bdubs now works on Fabric! And with that, some fixes and new features have been added!
- Variants can now use the same item! If multiple variants have the same item, a random one is chosen at first, and it'll cycle through the variants after giving the Bdubs the same item.
- Bdubs with custom skins can now be quickly spawned! Using the nbt tag,
profile
, you can specifiy a player username or UUID just like player heads! (e.g./summon lifesizebdubs:bdubsentity ~ ~ ~ {profile:"GoodTimeWithScar"}
). - New idle animations have been added! (Note: it is a known bug that some of the more complex animations don't properly transition from their end frame to the start frame of the normal idle animation - this might be fixed later).
- All variant strings, such as variant name, messages, & timed messages, now use Minecraft's Text instead of strings. This allows for some extra formatting.
- Variants can now have sugar as their item! Sneak-right click to give the Bdubs sugar to change variant. Spyglass as the variant item may or may not work, haven't tested yet.
Bdubs Mecha

- Added the Bdubs mecha skin for Armistice. It looks beautiful.
- Added two new NBT tags for the Bdubs entity,
pushable
andshouldDespawn
. Both are booleans. - Updated
showcaseMode
. Instead of enablingNoAI
andInvulnerable
, it now enablesInvulnerable
,pushable
, and disablesshouldDespawn
. This allows the Bdubs entity to look at the nearby players, which I wanted. I don't believe previous Bdubs entities with this tag will be automatically updated. - Added new optional
altItem
field for the Bdubs variant datagen. It's just that, an alternative item for the variant. - Improved the spyglass waving feature slightly.
- Made it so locked shoulder entities stay locked after relogging.
- Added imposter egg and tnt block items for use in ModFest.

Fixed an issue where the Bdubs texture transparency patcher accidentally read the "bdubsnail.png" textures.
Fixed an issue where, if dodaylightcycle
was turned off, the sugar spinning effect would not be applied.
Made it where it was expected for Bdubs to be given an owner via items even when the Bdubs isn't the default variant.
Bdubs, Not Bugs
uh fixed some things I forgot what all I did because I took a week break but here's what I remember
- Enabled transparency on the second layer of the bdubs texture/player skin.
- If Ears is installed, the changes to a bdubs texture/skin made by Ears will be undone, looking normal. (Ears features are not rendered, but no transparency issues or otherwise should appear).
- Skizz's item is now a snowball instead of a wind charge(to allow for the variant to be in ModFest)
- Being damaged no longer knocks off shoulder locked entities.
- Added a sound for when a Bdubs entity is removed from a player's shoulder.
- Made the
messages
field in a bdubs variant optional. - Added a bdubsnail picture for future use in ModFest.
- Added an eefo picture for future use in ModFest.
